When you have been pounding your feet all day there is nothing like taking some time out to give yourself a little pampering and take some ‘me’ time. After you have cut the nails use a file to get the edges nice and smooth, file in one direction only to avoid splits.

Step Five; Further prepare the nails by employing a buffer which will give you a super smooth, shiny surface upon which to paint the nail varnish. The smoother the nail is the better the adhesion will be so avoiding ripples and cracks in the finished nail.

Step Six; Apply the colour. Always use a toe nail base coat to increase the adhesion, it works like the undercoat that house painters use forming a better surface for the top coat to stick to. Make sure you allow the base coat to dry properly or the top layer will not set properly and ruin the whole effect. Once it has dried apply the top coat. To get the best finish use the three stroke method for applying the base and top coat which is load the brush sparingly and paint one stroke down the center of the nail and then a stroke either side. Carefully remove any varnish from the surrounding skin with a finger nail or nail stick.
