Silver Jewellery Can Make Or Break Your Outfit
Now that we are well and truly into the New Year I feel it is time for a good old clear out of the wardrobe. You know the old saying – out with the old and in with the new. Some of my clothes have definitely seen better days and really I just need any old excuse to hit and shops to see what bargains are out there. Of course, with a wardrobe update under way, it gives me an excuse to buy some co-ordinating jewellery too. Jewellery can be really important and it can certainly make your outfit look fantastic. It you decide to team up a classic suit with some outrageous jewellery, then believe me you are going really off track in the fashion stakes.
Of course we all differ in our tastes and this is no different when it goes to choosing our jewellery.
From a personal point of perspective, I really love classic jewellery and don’t like anything that is too flashy. I have a couple of designer silver rings and silver necklaces which I wear all the time. I have found that it just doesn’t pay to buy rubbish and with jewellery you really do get what you pay for.
My older sister always seems to buy the cheapest jewellery she can and in all truthfulness it really does show. There have been plenty of occasions when she has had one of her cheap necklaces on for a little too long, only to be left with a lovely green neck – I think you will agree not the best look in the world.
Isn’t it strange how fashion comes and goes though. Take my Nan for instance, she has got some beautiful old silver brooches that she has had for years and just recently my daughter actually asked if she could borrow one of them. I was quite shocked by this, as I had always thought that brooches are an old woman’s accessory, but no I stand corrected because according to my daughter they are in fashion at the moment. Don’t you hate it when your children know more about what’s in fashion than you? What annoyed me even more was the fact that my daughter turned her nose up at my jewellery and decided instead to borrow her Grandmas!
