The Art Show
The UK’s longest running and most well thought of art event has been show cased in amazing fashion by the International Art fair. The art fair begins on the 8th of October and is run in a 72000 square metered group of marquees. Art London, sponsored by the Amber Foundation which gives out loads of help to the unemployed in the country has been a part of some of the biggest art shows in the world. The exhibition itself will include will encompass painting, photography, works on paper, ceramics and glass, with new exhibitors to the fair including the Connoisseur Art Gallery from Hong Kong and the Blue Leaf Gallery from Dublin. All art on show is not for sale and will be there for everyone to admire and browse.
An unusual interactive highlight will be the Thirteen Langton Street Gallery exhibiting the ‘live’ works of Raphael Thierry. Thierry manages to manipulate creative pieces so well in front of audiences who are then invited to destroy the works so that Thierry can start all over again. Thierry has also performed in front of live audiences in Paris, Rome and London. The man is just a pure genius when it comes to creating something truly unique and special for everyone to see. There is a lot of positive things this artist can offer the art community. When you remember that the whole event is outside in a massive group of party marquees that art show will be under heavy security to make sure that no pieces of art get stolen or pinched as the gallery has experienced similar problems in the past. For one ticket it costs £12 and for two people it costs £18 as it includes a catalogue with information about the art gallery. Tickets may be purchased on the door itself or through the internet at any one of the usual ticket websites. I think this is not an event to miss out on and I would highly recommend anyone interested in art to go along and have a good look around.
